Summer Favorite Tequila Inspired Cocktails

I’ll start by saying I never used to really like Margaritas, whenever I got one at a restaurant it was often too sweet and tasted weak. So, I would rarely order one out. It wasn’t until I became a bartender and realized there were other ways to make drinks besides using sweet and sour that I learned to make a mean margarita that I really enjoyed and has always been a crowd favorite!

Here are my two favorite tequila cocktail recipes, be warned the margarita may taste mild, it has a strong punch so drink wisely!

Not your Grandma’s Margarita⠀
-2 oz Tequila⠀
-1/2 oz Cointreau (optional, but I like the extra flavor this adds)⠀
-Juice of 2 limes⠀
-1/2 oz agave or sweetener of choice (I don’t like super sweet drinks, you can use more if you wish) ⠀

Combine all ingredients and shake with ice until shaker is cold, pour over 1 large ice cube in a cocktail glass. Float with Grand Marnier Garnish with a lime and enjoy!

Paloma ⠀
-2 oz Tequila⠀
-2 oz Fresh Grapefruit Juice (this is approximately the juice from one large grapefruit)⠀
-Juice of 1/2 a lime⠀
-1/2 oz agave or sweetener of choice (I don’t like super sweet drinks, you can use more if you wish).

Combine all ingredients and shake with ice until shaker is cold, pour over ice in a stemless wine glass, top with soda water (I use grapefruit Spindrift), garnish with grapefruit slice.
