I had a recent request from a newly pregnant mama for mocktails. My apologies for having all of these cocktails and none for the pregnant, nursing or those who just maybe want a non alcoholic drink! I pretty much hated all drinks including water during my pregnancies, so I sometimes forget others who want to partake in festivities, but can’t. Here are my three favorite mocktail recipes, let me know what your favorite one is!
The basis of a margarita is sweet, sour and tequila of course. I like mine on the more tart side, so feel free to add more sweetener of choice if you wish!
Juice of 2 limes
Juice of 1/2 an orange
1/2-1 oz of Agave (or sweetener of choice)
Shake and pour over ice
Top with soda water and stir gently, garnish with lime slice
A Mojito is a super refreshing summer cocktail. With this recipe you won’t even miss the booze!
10 Fresh Mint Leaves
1/2 Lime cut into wedges
1 oz Simple Syrup
Squeeze lime into glass and muddle lime wedges and mint, add simple syrup and shake with ice. Top with soda water, stir gently and lime garnish.
Strawberry Basil Lemonade
5 Ripe Strawberries
3 Pieces of Fresh Basil
4-6 oz Lemonade
Cut strawberries up in small pieces and cut basil into thin strips. Muddle strawberries and basil together very well. Top with lemonade, shake and strain into glass. Garnish with strawberry as pictured above.
I hope you enjoy these summer Mocktails!
